When You Feel Your Best, You Worry Less

When You Feel Your Best, You Worry Less

Once upon a time, I was one of those people who used to feel stressed daily.  I had a ton of responsibilities.  The 24-hours in a day weren’t enough to finish the work I had to complete.  The struggles were definitely real.  I am here to say that I feel your pain.  My health suffered because of it too.  Your health is one of the most important aspects of your daily life.  When you feel sick, it is like the whole world is going to end.  Your day-to-day tasks become an impossible mission.

This is what my mind used to look on a daily basis.  It was an endless cycle of repetitive responsibilities.  It seemed like it wasn’t affecting my body at all until I noticed I couldn’t sleep at night.  I felt tired during critical times where my mind had to be sharp.

It seems like a great balance until you realize there is no “me” time to enjoy.  We get caught in this cycle of responsibilities that the last thought on our minds is ourselves and our hobbies.  We forget the essentials of eating right and exercise which help create peace of mind.

I am here to tell you.  You need to take the time to look after your health regardless of your size, weight, and background.

When you feel your best,You will worry less

You Worry Less

Your physical and mental well being should be a priority in your life.  It is easier said than done though.  Once we get into the rhythm of our lives, it takes discipline to think about yourself too.  Guilt can make us feel like we can’t take a break, but the truth is, we sometimes need a break too.  Life is about enjoying the precious moments that will pass us by if we don’t blink.

Home Care Saves Families Money

Time passes by.  The clock moves forward for everyone.  Families grow larger and older too.  Our loved ones, who provided us with the nurture and care that helped us grow into the wonderful people we are today, have grown older too.  You start to realize shifts and changes in their behavior.  They are the parents we have idolized our entire lives, but as we all know, nothing lasts forever and sometimes they need the extra care that they deserve.

As they provided care for us when we were younger, we return the favor with our kindness and patience towards their needs.  It is not as bleak as it sounds though.  You may feel that it is expensive to give your parents or family member’s the help and care that is needed.  Despite our best intentions, sometimes our intentions require the finances to support them.

Nursing Home Care is on Average $85,000 per Year

A key component for care services today is that nursing home care continues to increase in price while home care is more affordable.  In the United States, you can expect to pay around $85,000 annually for long-term care.  A certified home health aide or a caregiver can cut the cost especially with affordable plans that some agencies offer as part of their private pay considerations.  Additionally, the benefits are better because the loved ones can live in the comfort of their home.

The reality is we want the best for our families.  If we want the best for our families, you should consider home care.  It will save your family money and your loved ones won’t regret the decision.

The Positive Perception of Home Care Services

The Positive Perception of Home Care Services

The positive perception of home care services is a hot topic for 2018 and 2019.   For the most part, you may have heard that there is a growing demand for health care services and limited interest in health care careers.  The main problem is the negative perception that home care services receive from media channels.  You rarely hear of the good that home care agencies do for the communities.  I want to share with you the contributions that home care agencies bring.

Home Care Agencies are Community Health Leaders

Home care agencies are community health leaders.  Hospitals, health care centers, and the community of families rely on home care services for their health needs.  For instance, if a grandparent leaves the hospital, home care services assist in ensuring that they recover and that families don’t need to worry.

Home Care Agencies are Employment Friendly

Though home care services are focused on providing care, they are an industry leader in employment opportunities.  The is room to grow in the home care agency.  In addition, home health aides and caregivers are capable of progressing their careers into other fields like administrative or office manager.  Their talent and capabilities of being passionate to people is a business need!  Health care businesses provide training programs for their employees to ensure they can pursue better opportunities.

Home Care Agencies Provide Security

A home care agency in the community provides security for health and for prosperity.  Essentially, health, employment, and security are what many American families care about.  The growth of the industry indicates that most people understand the contributions that home care agencies do for communities.  It is time they are recognized as a positive outlook.

How to Prepare for the Winter: Winter Health

Winter can cause issues with our mental and physical health.

The cold temperature leads to less outdoor time. Many who exercise outside will have a decrease in physical activity. The reduction in exercise means fewer endorphins which will negatively impact both mental and physical health. The cold temperatures can also mean fewer outings with friends. Socialization is important to human’s well-being. Feelings of isolation are very common in the winter. Another common issue is the immune systems response can slow down making you more susceptible to sickness. Many do not venture outdoors. Exposure to colds and viruses is increased because more people are in close quarters and these germs survive better in the cold.

Winter also means less sunshine. The decrease in sunshine has a great influence on mental health. Sunshine gives individuals vitamin d; a lack of vitamin d can negatively influence your mood and energy and has been linked to depression. The increase in darkness can also disrupt your Circadian rhythm. Darkness and light can affect this causing a disruption in your sleeping cycle and feeling abnormally tired.

The dry air that accompanies winter weather can cause discomfort for many. the dry air can cause the skin to itch and peel.

Another aspect leading to health issues for the winter can be a multitude of holidays. Many different religions have special holidays that take place in the winter months, which mean more people coming together and spreading germs. This also means more food. Weight gain is very likely at this time and can cause discomfort for people and affects self-esteem.

You can improve your mental and physical health.

It is important to continue exercising during winter. Try to work out at least 3 times a week for at least 30 minutes each time. This can strengthen the mood and immune system. To keep yourself motivated, you can ask friends to join a local gym or exercise class, or even find home workouts to fit into your schedule.

To stay healthy, it is important to eat healthily. It can be difficult during the winter and holidays, but proper nutrition will help give you energy and can positively affect mood.

In the winter, many individuals retreat from social interaction, but mental health can be negatively impacted by this. It is important to stay socially active, whether it be through strong relationships or volunteering to help others. Both can give you positive social interactions.

Always wash your hands. Make sure you use soap and warm water. Try to use a paper towel to open doors after. Washing your hands should take at least 20 seconds. Hand-sanitizer can also be brought anywhere in case an area does not have soap.

Adults should be sleeping 7-9 hours a night. Poor sleep can worsen the immune system, anxiety, depression, and overall mood. If the air is too dry, humidifiers should be purchased. The temperature inside a house will also affect sleep, too hot or too cold can prevent sleep.

Remember to stay active! Do the things you enjoy. While motivation and focus may be low, once you push yourself the results will be beneficial.

Being Kind Helps Improve Overall Health

Being Kind Helps Improve Overall Health

It is the most wonderful time of the year.  Despite the cold temperatures and the white flakes that we like to call snow, it is this time of year that is known for random acts of kindness.  The kindness shown to others have been known to improve overall health.  Studies show that people, who are generally kind to others especially in the home health care industry, have higher self-esteem and are happier with their lives.

The holidays bring families together.  The moral values of kindness and giving is a tradition that is constantly expressed through various forms of what is perceived as kindness.

The truth is kindness in medical matters.   When patients are ill or feeling discomfort, feelings of being looked after can increase their healing.   Ninety-percent of patients would switch doctors or home care facilities if they were treated unkindly.  Furthermore, eighty percent of patients would pay more for kinder care.  Additionally, caregivers need to understand how to connect on a personal level.

Home Health Aides are at the seventy percentile when it comes to providing a personal level care that is unprecedented to other health care workers.  The statistics show that when patients experience feelings of comfort, they can fully focus on healing.  Although Americans may not see the value in kindness, eighty-eight percent of patients feel that being kind is a treatment that is vital to their health.

When considering what is important for your health, consider the people around you. Do they make you feel happy?  Are they there to support you twenty-four seven?  Can you feel safe around them?  These are valid questions that can improve your health.
