Remembrance 9-11-2001

Where were you on this day? For some, it was an amazing day filled with opportunities. For others, they barely remember it. Those born after 9/11 look at images in history books and ponder at the tragedy. Finally, for many others, it was the last day they would see their loved one or walk on this earth.

The experiences of that day are different for everyone. It provokes a sense of mystery behind why thousands had lost their lives in a span of a couple of hours. However, the dark message is the same. Tragedy can rattle our hearts. It can make us feel unsafe. We may be numb to the pain. As cliche as it seems, it is important to not take things for granted and always appreciate what is around you.

Today is a day of remembrance. It was eighteen years ago that 3000 people lost their lives. While some of us don’t want to think about the tragedy, it is a sign of love and respect for those who lost their lives. The best thing we can do is to continue to do our best in this life while supporting those in need. 9/11 was a day that brought the nation together in the midst of chaos.

Nevertheless, it is days like these that we give thanks to another day. Their souls will forever be in our memories.

E & S Family shows its respect and remembrance for the tragedy that happened. Our hearts are with the families who continue to suffer to this day. Though we cannot repair what happened, we can hope to bring a little bit of light to the darkness of the day.

Home Care is a Global Phenomenon

Home care is a global phenomenon.  It is not only aging Americans that are reliant on home care services.  Baby boomers are one of the largest populations on Earth currently.  As they age, their needs continue to increase. However, the general mindset on the population relies on independence.  It is the future of care.  Medical facilities can provide care internationally, and there is no reason why care at home can’t be possible.

Nations that provide home care services:

  • Australia
  • China
  • Italy
  • Taiwan
  • UK
  • Scotland
  • Ukraine
  • United States
  • Canada
  • Ireland

There are fourteen countries currently that provide caregiving services and prefer to have care at home.  In addition to the home care services, a majority of the caregivers choose to rely on medical resources during caregiving older people.  These countries mainly believe that family plays an important role in providing to its older parents.  In cultures were the children are responsible for caring for the adults, are civilizations that rely on caregiving to be a resource especially if the siblings are responsible to take care of themselves financially.

For example, in Taiwan, about one-out-of-three receive long-term care or home care.  There were over 600,000 family caregivers in Taiwan and they spend an average of fourteen hours a day caregiving.  These countries provide home care services for their elderly.  While some nations do not have an official home care service or do not consider it as caregiving, several other countries offer services where patients can receive care at home.

What this means for you is that home care services are reliable and families worldwide depend on them to ensure that their loved ones are cared for.

This is Why Millennials Should Pay Attention to Home Care

Who are millennials?  Millennials are the generation born between 1981 to 1995 born to the incredible baby boomers.  Baby boomers were once the most dominant population in the world, but that title has been taken by the Millennials who are said to be the majority of the workforce by 2025 as more baby boomers reach the age of retirement.  While Millennials are often seen as lazy or entitled, I can tell you that there are many millennials who recognize the importance and value their loved ones have in their lives. We try to capture every precious moment with our smartphones. I know I do.

Why Home Care?

Time passes by and sometimes we forget that our formidable parents are aging.  I am a millennial, and I have to tell you that I never started thinking about home care until I hit the age of thirty when I realized that my parents may need help around the house.  I was worried about their safety and their well-being.  I know I am not the only one.  Your time is important, yet your family is too!  As a full-time employee, there are times where I will work forty plus hours a week.

Millennials Work Hard

It is true!  I know there are some bad apples!  Despite the contrary believe, Millennials work hard.  They are classified as one of the hardest, working generations.  The main reason is that they rarely leave work at home.  With the instant access to email and office work, it is not uncommon to see a Millennial work after hours.  It is not because they are selfish with their time, but sometimes the most valuable of priorities in our life can take a back seat.  We should never let our parents take a back seat.

Home Care Is Affordable and a Safe Option on a Budget

Since we grew up during the recession, we understand the need to save and spend money wisely.  Home care is an affordable option.  It is more affordable than a nursing home, and it is better quality too.  Furthermore, in most instances, you will not need to leave the comfort of your home to schedule an appointment.  The best home care agencies provide free consultations where an expert comes to your home and provides you with additional information. Home care agencies can send a caregiver within 24-hours of requesting services.   It is a safe option if you are on a budget.
