Caregiving is a Miracle Worker

Caregiving is a Miracle Worker

Caregiving is a Miracle Worker

I came across a caregiver in 2016 who came from Cuba. She had no family and lived alone in the United States. During her time in the country, she never learned the language. Actually, she had no other talents or desires other than to help people. I remember her. The reason I remember her is because she walked through our school doors and begged for an opportunity to receive a certification. Certified Home Health Aide is an underestimated certification.  It leads to better careers.  If you prefer to work with people and assist them, what better place to start than as a Home Health Aide?

IMMIGRANTS HAVE A HOME

She had the passion to be a caregiver, yet the language barriers and knowledge kept her from getting a license. In the state of New Jersey, it is a difficult process to attain a Home Health Aide license. Immigrants, while new to the country, don’t understand the process. I’ve encountered several students who are nurses and doctors from other countries but lack the understanding of how to get into the medical career

Caregiving is a perfect opportunity for them to get involved in the community and do what they love. This student was no different. She wanted a chance to show everyone that she had the ability to help. After three weeks and paying close attention to her capabilities, she passed the course. It’s three years later, and she works in several homes. It’s a miracle worker.

IT’S-A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE

Frankly, caregiving is a universal language. It doesn’t matter what language you speak because compassion can be understood with no words. I thought I’d share this story for anyone who is out there and feel that their limitations will stop them from pursuing their dreams.

The Significance of the Fourth of July

The Significance of the Fourth of July

What you know about the Declaration of Independence is from history books, lessons, and legends.  I will tell you what most people know about the United States.  It is a federal holiday.  It celebrates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence July 4, 1776 when the thirteen American colonies became a nation named the United States of America.  A fun fact, before I get to that point, is that Congress declared Independence on July 2nd, but we will keep that between ourselves.

Fireworks, parades, fairs, picnics, concerts, family reunions, barbeques, and other family celebrations are associated with the Fourth of July.  I don’t think George Washington and the Congress expected it to be as festive as is! It is a holiday where businesses are closed and most people get the day off.  Throughout the years, I never took the time to think about the Fourth of July as I am now.  The freedoms that we celebrate today are because of a series of events that led a group of people to understand that, in thought and theory, everyone deserves a chance to pursue their dreams.

What is the Real Significance and What is My Point?

I get it.  You might not care!  I will get to the point.  Fast forward over two hundred years later and the United States has done well for itself.  There is more to the Fourth of July than what people care to remember. Its significance, now that I am a bit older and wiser, is that it reminds us how important our freedom is.  The freedom we received may not have been perfect or ideal, yet the principle is a beautiful concept.  Slaves, discrimination, and the injustices were imperfections of a perfect ideology.  Imagine a country where people never wanted to progress or improve upon a perfect vision?  There would not be a single person who would fight for anyone.

I am writing this today because the many students I meet remind me of how freedom has helped millions of people strive for better.  We are halfway through the year.  It may bother us that we did not complete our to-do list.  However, you had the freedom to not complete it!  Success is always possible and that is what you should remember about today.

Enjoy time with your family, festivities, and remember that you are free!

The Cost of Home Care is More Affordable Than You Think

The Cost of Home Care is More Affordable Than You Think

You spend your entire life being cared for, but now it’s your turn to provide the care for your parents or grandparents.  The cost of caring for a loved-one is the last thing on a family’s mind.  When it comes to love, care should not have a price tag.  Unfortunately, the real world has a different view.  The care of a loved one doesn’t need to be expensive though.  You can find real, affordable care without breaking the bank or feeling guilty about it either.  You should be able to feel comfortable with your decision and the safety of a loved one who may need extra care.

How Expensive is Home Care?

This is an excellent question.  The advantages of home care are that you can choose to pay-out-of-pocket or use your insurance to pay the cost for the services.  Reputable home care agencies accept most insurances and will assist you if need be with the process of getting home care to your home as quickly as possible.

Home care expenses can depend on what you need.  They are flexible.  In addition, most home care agencies design payment plans for your family’s needs.

Why You Should Choose Family Owned Home Care Agencies?

You should choose family-owned home care agencies because they understand the reality of caring for sick, loved ones.   Family owned home care agencies, such as E & S Home Care Solutions, work efficiently to provide the necessary care that your family needs in order to be worry-free.
